Wonderful Wednesday #82

Hello lovely people and how do I find you on this Wednesday evening? Today has been a busy one where I've been coaching all day with some of my favourite people. However, my ankle is still pretty dodgy so you now find me in bed, feet up and iced with my painkillers making me way too sleepy to be cool at this time of the day. Anyway, no moaning allowed because this week has been pretty darn lovely. Here's some of the wonderful...

1. Home. There's simple pleasures in being fully comfortable in a place. You know the routine and can pick your way through the clutter in pitch darkness, because everything is exactly the same as you left it (although they got a new toaster and shoved loads of stuff in my room and thought I wouldn't notice!). It has been lovely slowing down a bit and living at my parents.

2. Tea shops. Because meeting people for tea and cake seems like my main job right now and I'm really not complaining.

3. Family. I spend long stretches of time away from my family and I haven't been home properly since Easter so it's been all sorts of lovely to just spend time in their company. Chatting, watching the tv and walking the dog. All the mundane, everyday things that I miss out on when I'm away.

4. Golden Light. Behind sunsets I think golden light might be my favourite. This time of the year it bathes everything in such a magical glow. My favourite time of the day to take a walk is the golden hour just before sunset.

5. GBBO. I will not be available for the foreseeable future on Tuesday nights. I will be sat on the sofa with enough snacks to last me the hour and a quarter and anyone that tries to disturb me will be shushed. I'm already very excited that next week's episode will be viewed with the company of lovely friends and the promise of dessert in front of the tv.

6. Mamma Mia. Feel good film. I sung, I cried, I couldn't concentrate properly because the young Donna was too ridiculously beautiful.

And just like that another week is through! The weeks seem to be zapping through and soon I'll be back at uni. I'm making the most of this patch of slightly easier time. Wonderful Wednesday #81

This past couple of weeks have been tough guys. Living on your own is. Some days I feel like all I do is wake up, go to work, come back to my room and sleep. I don't seem to have had a conversation that doesn't revolve around the weather or work in weeks and I just need a hug. That's why I'm super excited to say I finish work on Thursday and can drive back to Suffolk. Just in time for a wedding at the weekend and seeing my family and friends. In weeks like this it's even more important to find the little things that brighten your day...

1. Brownies. Thick, chocolately goodness that really hits the spot when you're looking for some comfort food. Served with a big dollop of sweet cream and a smile from the lady in the kitchen because she's deliberately saved you the biggest bit.

2. Dinner together. For the last month I have been sitting at a table on my own for most meals. I eat as quickly as I can because there's always jobs to do. I have my food last and need to be first out of the door. So eating together for once is such a luxury. Having a conversation and not having to bolt my food is a pleasure.

3. BBQs. Can't beat a good bbq in the summer and this week my boss made us one to celebrate our last night off together. After a few false starts with lighting the bbq we tucked into some lovely food as the sunset.

4. Clouds. Because clouds can make the most beautiful patterns in the sky. This week I've snatched moments in my days to just watch the clouds. How they move with the wind and wisp across the sky. A moment to breathe and be calm.

5. Photos. This week the photos taken by the disposable cameras at my friend's hen do came back. They may possible be my favourite collection of photos ever. They capture the laughter and happiness that weekend. The little moments that probably would have been missed if we'd not had those cameras. These photos capture our friendship and that's worth so much!

6. Chocolate. Because some days all you need is to stuff your face with some dairy milk!

And now back to today, I'm counting down the hours until I can jump in my car and get on the road towards Suffolk. Wonderful Wednesday #80

Hello everyone and welcome to Wonderful Wednesday brought to you on a Thursday! It's been pretty hectic around these parts as I'm working long days so I've been neglecting my Wonderful Wednesday posts. However, some lovely lovely messages from the rest of the gang on twitter have got me tip tapping this out on my morning off.

Without further ado let's get down to the wonderful...

1. Sunsets. Today is not the day I stop raving about them. But when you can sit at the top of the hill and watch the sky change colour in a warm breeze and not a soul in sight who can really blame me?

2. Lovely comments. Isn't it just lovely to hear you've done a good job or that someone is grateful for something you've done? This week some of the coaches have left some amazing comments and it makes me all fuzzy that they've taken the time to do that.

3. Wonderful friends who check in. I'm away from my home, friends and family for another two weeks still and whilst I'm having a lovely time I do miss everyone. So it's been just lovely to have friends who message or call just to catch up. Or alternatively so that I can counsel them when they're driving through a thunderstorm!

4. Views. The views here are incredible. You can see for miles and every time I head over the hill it takes my breath away. I might be miles and miles from the sea, but the views aren't half bad.

5. Perfect blue shoes. Let me tell you a story about a hunt for shoes that has been going on for months. I'm a bridesmaid at one of my best friend's weddings in a couple of weeks. So I have been on the lookout for matching shoes. Shoe shopping is always so difficult with finding something that goes over my splint and fits both my odd sized feet. So when I found some beautiful bright blue suede trainers in TK Maxx I definitely hit the jackpot. They are perfect and it has made me even more excited for the special day.

6. What a difference a year makes. Sometimes you just have to step back and reflect. Time hop always brings back memories and it's so funny how much has changed since this time last year. For one, this time last year I met someone who has grown to be one of my very best friends. We met this time last year and now talk every single day. My flatmate also visited me and we've gone through so much this year.

7. Weather. This sunshine is making me and everyone around me super happy when there's cricket to be played. Enough said.

8. An evening off. Saturday night we all had an evening off which was spent eating tasty Mexican food and catching up. We work mainly on our own so it's lovely to know there's girls that have got your back and we had a lovely evening.

That's all for this week. Keep looking for the lovely things that make you smile in everyday and for even more catch  JoHelenMichelleSarahKateCatSamEl Kerri's, and Peta's and Ellie's blogs and #wonderfulwednesday. Have a fab rest of the week.
